City calls for input on planning of Kruis Road in Brackenfell

The City of Cape Town has initiated the planning and design of Kruis Road from Bottelary Road to Ronelle Street in Brackenfell. Residents are encouraged to assess the proposal and submit their comments or queries by 12 December 2025. Read more below:
‘The area directly surrounding this corridor is experiencing a surge in development. In order to facilitate the bulk road infrastructure upgrades that is needed in the vicinity and to mitigate the impact of future traffic on the road network, we have initiated the planning and design of this section of Kruis Road in Brackenfell. I encourage residents to please comment on these plans before 15 December 2025, the input from our local communities is very valuable in this process,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
The City will be hosting an information Day on 20 November 2025 from 15:00 to 18:00 at the Sub Council 2 Municipal Office.
The planning and design of this project includes:
- Upgrading Kruis Road to a dual carriageway road from Bottelary Road to Ronelle Street including a roundabout at Ronelle Street intersection
- Upgrade of the Bottelary Road and Kruis Road intersection
- Relocation and upgrading of the traffic signals at Bottelary Road intersection to match the dual carriageways of Kruis Road.
- Addition of active mobility and public transport facilities.
